AL is written in Navision
C/side and powered by Microsoft
Business Solutions Navision. It is fully integrated with Navision (GL, HR,
Payroll) and Serenic Navigator.
Distribution of Payroll Expense
The core of the
system is the Salary
Distribution Engine – the scope of which goes beyond standard allocations.

AL maintains a set of business rules called Salary Allocation
Instructions (SALs) which are superior to standard allocation rules.
AL
accepts any payroll source including Navision or a third party payroll provider.
It respects Step & Grade and scheduled cost of living increases.
Summary information is posted to the G/L while full detail
by employee and/or position is available in a subsidiary journal. The system
can be configured to handle all payroll expenses including taxes,
employer/employee fringe contributions, and other items such as mileage
reimbursement.

Time and Effort Approvals
Research organizations can
meet NIH requirements for Time and Effort approval using the integrated web
based system. This system hosts a dialogue between the PI and administration.

Time and Effort approvals can be set up as an Intranet or Internet based system
allowing access from virtually anyplace
Position Control
Position Control allows a
different viewpoint of your employee population. Instead of maintaining details
on Joe Smith you can now log detail on your HR manager – regardless of the
person filling the position.
